  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
