Stephen King, The Shining
Wendy had cooked Dick Hallorann’s turkey to a turn and they had all eaten to bursting without even coming close to demolishing the jolly bird. Jack had groaned that they would be eating turkey for the rest of the winter—creamed turkey, turkey sandwiches, turkey and noodles, turkey surprise.
No, Wendy told him with a little smile. Only until Christmas. Then we have the capon.

- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste

- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir in the dried thyme, and season with salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Gradually sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously, until the sauce becomes creamy and smooth.
