Robber Steak – Räubersteak
Robber Steak, also known as “Räubersteak” in German, is a traditional dish that is typically made with bits of bacon, onion, and beef, seasoned with red pepper, and strung on sticks before being roasted over an open fire. Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, cut into small cubes
- 1/2 lb bacon cut into small cubes
- 1 onion cut into small cubes
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes or to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Skewers or metal skewers
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or prepare a fire for cooking.
- In a bowl, mix together the beef cubes, bacon cubes, onion cubes, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
- Thread the beef, bacon, and onion mixture onto skewers, making sure to compact the mixture tightly.
- Grill the skewers over the fire or on the grill, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and the bacon is crispy, about 15-20 minutes.
- Serve the Robber Steak skewers hot, with a side of your choice.
